Choose a film (The Bucket List) about travel (whether physical, spiritual or mental), and argue how a character in the film leaves an imprint on the culture or society that he or she encounters. In other words, discuss the impact this characters travel experience has on those around him/her or on the viewer. Remember, your paper must be thesis-driven. You can consider the characters motivations; key choices that reflect his/her priorities, and the implications of choices. You are not summarizing the film or the characters role in the film. You will research at least three sources. One should come from the bucket list ; another should come from our assigned readings (Into the Wild, Where the Wind Leads By Vhin Chung or any of our other online supplementary texts). One must be a scholarly source (e.g. from the academic search engines on our librarys websiteFONDREN LIBRARY SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY). You may also use at least one non-assigned source. You can refer to articles from the library, the internet, or a newspaper or another assigned text, but this source may not be a referential site and must be of scholarly critical acclaim. Your texts should prompt a response from you and you should be able to state your argument and defend it with several supporting examples that uphold your opinion.
