Op-Amp Circuits Lab Task: Inverting, Non-Inverting and Multistage 741 Amplifiers
| Programme | Electrical and Electronics Engineering with Honours |
| Experiment | 741 operational amplifier circuits |
| Source signal | 1 Vpk, 10 kHz sine; ±12 V supplies |
| Tasks | Calculation and simulation |
This EEE experiment sheet gives three op-amp amplifier designs and asks for the output voltage of each, worked out with circuit theory and then checked in simulation with schematics, measurements and waveforms.
Experiment Execution and Procedure
Figure 1 introduces the op-amp pin configuration and circuit symbol. Refer to the circuits below:
- Circuit 1 – Inverting op amp (Figure 2): R1 at the inverting input, R2 = 10 kΩ feedback, oscilloscope XSC1 on input and output.
- Circuit 2 – Non-inverting op amp (Figure 3): input on the non-inverting terminal, 10 kΩ resistors in the feedback network.
- Circuit 3 – Multistage op amp (Figure 4): cascaded 741 stages with resistors from 2 kΩ to 15 kΩ as specified in the diagram.
Tasks
- Calculation: use a related circuit theorem to calculate the output voltage; show the calculation in the result section and sketch the input and output waveforms.
- Simulation: simulate each circuit with related software; include the schematic design, a screenshot of the output voltage measurement and the input and output waveforms in the result section.
