The patient most likely developed the DVTs due to having limited movement because of the paralysis and the CHF. The patient denied having any signs or symptoms of DVT, however displayed dry scaly skin on the lower extremities. The DVT was managed with anticoagulant therapy Heparin while hospitalized followed by oral anticoagulant Eliquis at home. The outcome post hospitalization is unknown however the patient was recommended to follow up with the primary physician for continuation of care.
