Assignment Question:
Consider issues of character, ethics, values and beliefs in relation to leadership – To what extent can, and should, a ‘leader’ reflect and engage with these ideas in relation to his/her leadership approach/style? What are the challenges and consequences of operationalising such ideas and approaches in everyday organizational contexts?
Assignment Criteria
A successful assignment will:
1.Define and explore the notion and nature of ‘character’ (in the context of the argument being developed);
- Consider and explore the ethical, values and beliefs dimensions of character in a range of contexts and situations;
- Introduce, analyse and contextualise a range of relevant leadership theories in relation to the assignment discussion;
- Introduce, explain and apply a range of practical examples with which to illustrate the assignment;
- Provide an Introduction and Conclusion which are succinct and probing within the assignment response.
- Explore the role and impact, and relate to the assignment, of relevant philosophical paradigms (for example modernism and, in contrast, critical management).
- Use correctly formatted Harvard referencing for all sources.
Assignment Notes
The use of a limited number of sub-titles is recommended for the layout of your assignment. However, and importantly, please do not use ethical, moral, leadership etc. as obvious sub-headings. The engagement with those aspects of the question should be interwoven throughout the argument rather than structuring it. By way of sub-headings it is better to develop and sub-headings which comment and inform the argument development.
The assignment should be submitted electronically through the Turnitin system. The cover page for the assignment should include a word count.
