This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the design of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and the corresponding unmanned aircraft system (UAS) capable of being a multipurpose tool for a farmer. The aircraft must be able to perform the two minimum-requirement missions described in the Requirements section. The goal of this design is for the system to be a new tool for the farmer that can be easily used in the field.
More successful designs will be ones that are flexible enough that they can be marketed in different areas. Consider what farmers in different geographical areas will need from this type of system. Descriptions of how the UAS will be used are required in the proposal, and designs that are capable of a variety of missions will be more beneficial to the farmer. Designs need to meet all current regulations, and they should also be reasonably easy to control and maintain.
