Because the seriousness of violence in schools, many state departments of education are requiring school districts to develop a course of study for secondary students on violence reduction and conflict resolution. Select four educational theories or philosophies and analyze how educators representing the four positions would respond to this mandate. Criticize each educator’s response from another theory or philosophy (In other words, if an educator represented the essentialist position, how would that educator develop a curriculum to meet the state mandate and what would a critical theorist say about the essentialist’s response?).
