What is the purpose of your research? This digital reflection aims to?
Making Sense of emotions and or feelings: it is important that you define the emotions and or feeling; e.g. to make sense of anxiety or feelings of despair, depression or not fitting in. This aim of research is concerned with emotional recall (looking back at emotions and feelings) and systematic sociological introspection (making sense and understanding the cause through diagnosis or expression).

Research Design: Methodology and Method:
Methodology: This is how you create your personal (values, or personality or emotional and social intelligence or morality or ethics or spirituality) and professional knowledge (your ways of knowing in terms of ‘work’ and completing your role within the workplace) in and this is related to your aim as follows:
Making Sense of emotions and or feelings: For this I suggest you use auto-ethnographic practices (if diagnostic) or expressive artful auto-ethnographic practices (bricolage art based expressions to express how your emotion and or feelings manifest).
Method: this is concerned with the choice of data (diagnostics or poetics) and how you will analyse the data as follows:
Making Sense of emotions and or feelings: using a Gardner Cycle
Diagnostics (active imagination) include the narrative from a recognised source including: Learning diagnostics (Honey and Mumford Learning Inventory; Belbin Team Role Inventory; VAK learning styles) or Biographical Diagnostics (Personality tests; Values inventory; Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence tests; performance reviews and testimonies). These act to give a reason or a ‘measurement’ of why you behave or act a particular way or how others may perceive how you act and behave.
Poetics (artistic imagination) are artful metaphors which can be extracts from poetry, lyrics, proverbs, religious texts, drawings, photographs, or any other form of ‘art’ these act as artful embodiment of identity.
Theoretical Direction: This is your approach to journaling and will depend on your research design (diagnostic or expressive or bricolage)
For journaling there is always the consideration of how you intend to make sense of emotions so you can do this through mirror writing (Bolton, 2010) or using mirror metaphors (Bassot, 2016) or you are concerned with affirming values (Gardner, 2009; 2014) or you are using a bricolage approach (Armstrong, 2018)
