Leora Nichols is an assistant manager of the Dayton office of Ohio Wholesale Florists (OWF). She began working at OWF in 1990. In February 2013, Lenora suffered a severe back injury during a skiing trip to Aspen. Receiving a disability certificate from the state of Ohio, Leora notified her employer that as a result of her injuries she would no longer be able to perform her duties and would terminate her employment. She also announced that she was divorcing her husband of thirty-five years in order to marry her childhood sweetheart.
