Today, information plays an increasingly important and critical role in our lives. Each and everyone of us are affected in one way or another. In particular, information systems and technology play a major role in this process. Therefore it is important for us to be readily aware of issues concerning how technology is affecting us in our everyday lives and also in future developments.

Throughout this term you are to collect five recent and updated articles concerning issues in IT, computing, discussions on technology, the internet, businesses, e-commerce, education and technology etc.
Sources must be varied and you may look at newspapers such as SMH, The Australian, Financial Review (which publish their IT editorials on Tuesdays and the weekend), magazines (Australian Personal Computing, PC World etc.), valid relevant internet publications, recent journal articles (from valid professional or educational sources, school/uni libraries) etc.
For each article answer the following questions. Structure your response under each heading.
Choose suitable articles which enable you to answer the questions.
1. Summarise the article
2. Discuss the article in terms of the 7 information processes
3. Outline how it will affect you either at the present time or near future
4. Outline any positive and negative social & ethical issues within the article
5. Acknowledge the author, source (newspaper, website URL etc.), and the date it was written
For each article you should write at least 500 words. You must structure your response according to the criteria above. Your portfolio must contain your best five articles upon submission. Paper articles may be digitized by scanning or glued with your printed response in a folder.
