Assignment Guidelines

For the Cover Letter:

Use Chapter 15 and the resources located in the module to complete this assignment. The video titled 5 Steps to an Incredible Cover Letter (Links to an external site.)should be your primary guide for writing your cover letter; you will be graded on whether your letter meets these five steps.
Use a simple business letter template from either Word, Pages, or GoogleDocs. This will help ensure that your cover letter is formatted professionally (i.e. uses appropriate address formatting, spacing, etc.).
Ensure that you use appropriate spelling, grammar, and capitalization in your writing and that you follow the writing guidelines learned in the course: clear, concise, correct writing that is audience-centered, and has a conversational tone.
For the résumé:

Use the UC Berkeley PDF (Links to an external site.) in the Module for guidelines on how to organize and format your résumé. It’s best to select a simple layout. The use of text boxes and colors often results in a résumé not making it past the resume scanning process (Links to an external site.) that most organizations use.
Select a résumé layout that is best for your level of skills, knowledge, and experience (i.e. functional, skill-based, or combination).
Adapt your résumé so that it focuses on the position you’ve researched and selected.

Please submit the cover letter and résumé as one document uploaded to Canvas.
