One consideration that we have not yet touched on in this class is how to sustain global industrial growth without depleting our resources. There are many economic, political and even emotional concerns over the environment, poverty, terrorism and human living conditions around the globe. Most, if not all of these issues can be solved through decision sciences.
Consider the amount of waste generated around the world every day and the amount of energy consumed through hydrocarbons. Consider the ramifications of such on human life – both in the short and in the long terms.
As global managers and leaders, we must consider and develop decision science strategies to overcome these growing issues and take steps to sustain our planet.
