You and a group of friends decide to help a neighbor build a handicap access ramp for his home.
The group decides to divide the work into three types: Designing, Building, and Testing.
The Designers researched the project on the internet and found the necessary requirements for
the project – see below. From these requirements they will create a functional specification for
the access ramp. Think of the functional specification as a blueprint. The Builders will take this
specification from the Designers and create/build the ramp. The Testers will compare the
functional specification, which includes the requirements, with the new ramp to make sure they
are equivalent. In other words, they will make sure the Builders followed the Functional
Specification. In addition, the Testers will perform generic tests that could be applied to any ramp.
For example, they would want to make sure the ramp could support the weight of a person and a
wheelchair.
You are one of the Testers and your assignment is to create a test plan for the ramp that has
already been built. A member of your team already took a few measurements of the newly built
ramp. Be creative, but make sure your plan includes the requirements to ensure the success of
the project and note any deficiencies. The test plan should include the safety of all the folks using
the ramp, including those who don’t use a wheelchair
