Submission Details: Online through MyUni via Turnitin
Task: Selecting a Program from the Group assignment, you will outline the reasons as to why you
have selected this program. You will define the required program office processes to manage the
successful delivery of the above recommended program:
Develop the Program Business Case / Charter – Why (approx 1,250 words)
Develop the Program Management Plan – How (approx 3,000 words)
Develop the Program Control and Closure Plan – What (approx 750 words). Assume Program is
Closed.
A minimum of 3 projects is required within the Program.
Length and Presentation:
5000 words (+/- 10%)
8-15 slide presentation

mostly new content)
Tools and Templates used and included in the submission (these should be included in the
assignment)
Please combine the assignment and presentation into one PDF file.
Criteria by which your assignment will be marked: (Assignment Scoring)
The quality of the definition of the required program office processes to manage the successful
delivery of the recommended portfolio/program
Quality of the Program Business Case / Charter (to gain approval for the Program)
Quality of the Program Management Plan (to show how the Program will be completed)
Quality of the Program Control and Closure Plan (based on Program being closed)
Demonstrated ability to transfer or apply concepts covered in the course to this topic
Demonstrated awareness of and insight with regard to this topic
Application of theory and principles into practice
Demonstrated quality and depth of analysis
Demonstrated quality of writing
Important: whilst the assignment requires specific information about the program, when you
introduce a particular program management concept in your assignment, you need to briefly explain
what that concept means and then support this statement with appropriate references.
You may need to create some data to complete the 3 elements of this assignment, please provide a
statement if you need to do this.

Paste cover page as an image (not text) into your Word Assignment, this will ensure the
similarity score is accurate.
The Assignment is to be submitted as single PDF file. Use the Print to PDF Option in
PowerPoint and choose the Notes view to create a PDF file for the PowerPoint
presentation. Then merge with the Assignment PDF to create a single PDF file.

G’day Team
The university understands that due to these unprecedented times that you may be
being affected by higher levels of stress and anxiety which is affecting your study and
performance. In addition you may have the added stress of not passing this course.
To mitigate the stress of not passing this course, my supervisors and I we would like to
offer the entire class the opportunity to resubmit assignment 2.
The objective is to enable you to achieve a higher marks through application of the
feedback on the first attempt and further clarification of requirements. This will in turn
reduce the level of mark required in assignment 3 to pass the course.
The assignment re-submission will be due at 11:59pm on 6th May. (Turnitin resubmission instructions to follow)
It is not compulsory to resubmit this assignment, if you are happy with your first
attempt score then you do not need to resubmit.
To confirm that you will take this option you need to email me before the end of the
day of 30th April.

My Expectations
The plan should be written such that a professional program manager could use it to
understand the program at a high level and use it to start to manage the program.
Document section headings and discussions should be as per the assignment scoring
rubric as linked to in the assignment page.
You need to demonstrate the understanding of differences/similarities between
outcomes, outputs, deliverables, benefits, objectives and requirements by correctly
writing about them where applicable.
Program Business Case /Charter
Write a “Program Charter”, not a business case
You need to demonstrate what the purpose of a charter is.
Program Management Plan
Introduction
should be written as if the charter was not part of the same
assignment document.
Knowledge Areas
Sections and discussion as per the knowledge areas on slide 15 of
the day 3&4 presentation.

Sub headings and discussion as per slide 16 of the day 3&4
presentation.
Ensure discussion length is balanced across the sections.
Templates
Should include discussion on specific document templates that the
program will use to manage the program (e.g. status report) and
how projects will use them if required.
One example with basic detail would be good but not required.
Control & Close
Monitor & Control
This should be discussion of how the knowledge areas plans
and/or their subsection plans will be monitored and controlled for
the program.
Transition
Discussion should include how the program deliverables will be
transitioned to operations and how the program will be closed.
Discussion format
Each section of discussion in the plan should have three parts
1. Description of the theory and purpose of the section with academic reference
2. Discussion and description of how the theory will be applied n the context of the
program.
1. How the program will be managed and how interactions with the program
projects will take place. It should not contain detailed project plans.
3. Practical demonstration of the application of the program plan. e.g.
communication or stakeholder management tables, schedules, org charts.

DO you use the correct Harvard referencing system, the guide can be found in the
assignment files folder in the course on MyUni.
DO NOT use the Harvard Anglia referencing that is in MS Word, it is the incorrect
Harvard format (there are many).
DO NOT follow the layout in the example assignment that I shared with you, the
course and assignment has changed significantly since the example was written.
DO follow the section headings in the assignment scoring rubric that is referenced
from the assignment 2 web page.
DO review the assignment 2 discussion board for extra information about the
assignment.

available.
