After planning for procurement management, the next process involves deciding whom to ask to do the work, sending appropriate documentation to potential sellers, obtaining proposals or bids, selecting a seller, and awarding a contract. Prospective sellers do some of the work in this process, normally at no cost to the buyer or project. The buying organization is responsible for advertising the work, and for large procurements, the organization often holds some sort of bidders’ conference to answer questions about the job.
