Question 1. Using Rowe and Khan’s (1997) model would you say that Mr. Clark is aging successfully? Why or why not? How does he seem in terms of the factors that might “predict”: 1) high cognitive function, 2) high physical function, and 2) engagement with life?
Question 2. Using the model from Strawbridge et al (2002) how would you describe Mr. Clark subjective perceptions and his emotional/psychological health? Now, how do you see him? Do you think he would see himself as aging successfully? Why or why not? Based on what?
Question 3. Finally, using the perspectives from Lubben (2017), how would you describe his social network and connections to others? Does he have more ties to primary or secondary groups? What connections do you think he might be lacking? Finally, what interventions do you might be needed?
Question 4. What do you think we should do with this concept of aging “successfully”? Do you think it is still useful? Does it need to be changed even more? Why or why not?
