On the homepage, do a “Keyword” search with the Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals checkbox checked (see above example) . This will provide a list of articles:
In the generated list look for relevant articles with the Academic Journal icon:
Some of the icons will say things like Conference or e-Book – while they are in fact scholarly sources – for this class, I want you to concentrate on academic journals.
Give this a try, and I think you will find everything you need.
