Topic 1- Many argue that the 4th industrial revolution is underway. Identify what it involves (the Future of Work, the Economy 4.0, etc.) and discuss the challenges and responsibilities for businesses and broader governance.
Topic 2 – Undertake a cultural assessment of a specific country (of your choosing) and investigate the extent to which business practice corresponds with the cultural assessment in the country concerned.
Topic 3 – Choose a specific example of ‘offshoring’ by a company. Identify:
(a) the reasons for the company’s decision to offshore some of its operations,
(b) the impact of the offshoring on the home and host country’s economies, and
(c) a possible justification for ‘reshoring’ some of the company’s activities to its home country.
Topic 4 – Do patents promote or hold back innovation in the rapidly developing a technology market? Discuss and justify your response with evidence and examples.
Topic 5 – Choose an example of a general-purpose technology (or fundamental innovation) and identify the main influences on its development. How has this technology’s development likely to impact or is already impacting on the business environment?
Topic 6 – China’s ‘one road one belt strategy’ has a significant implication on geopolitical relationships and changing the business environment. In what way is this considered as a possible game-changer in international global business?
