General Instructions
This assignment requires you to read a case study, fill in a template and then make a file upload.
The total number of words should be no less than 750 but no greater than 900 (750-900 words)
Submitting your Assignment
1. Use the “Assignment 1 – Case Study (Response Template) “as the place to make all your
responses in this assignment.
2. Once you have completed your responses to all sections of the template save the template as a
separate file “Your Name – Assignment 1”.
3. Click on the “Submit Assignment” button + “Choose File” button. Upload your saved file.
4. Check the box indicating “I have read and understood the ACS Academic Misconduct Policy [..]”
5. Click the “Submit Assignment” button
Case Study Generator
1. First “Click” on Assignments + Assignment 1
2. The Case Study Generator will automatically allocate a case study to
you.
3. Secondly, read and copy/screenshot the Case Study allotted to you to a
MS WORD file so you can refer to it while doing the next three parts of
this assignment.
4. Lastly, you need to “Accept this case study as mine for Assignment 1”
and check the “Yes” button before you go to “submit”. (see figure below)

Filling-in your Assignment Response Template
STEP1: Download “Assignment 1 – Case Study (Response Template)” from the link on the Module 1 –
Assignments 1 page (see page 3.7).
Section 1 – Thomas White’s Framework
STEP2: First Read the Thomas White article, “Resolving and Ethical Dilemma” at this link
http://www.asec-sldi.org/dotAsset/292830.pdf or go to Page 3.7 on CANVAS. Then re-read your study.
Use the White framework to make an analysis of your individual case study. You should make
responses to all three steps (1,2, &3). Ideally, you should input 350-500 words into this section.
Section 2 – The Governance and Regulatory Environment
This section of the assignment deals with applying the ACS Code of Conduct and the Australian
Regulatory Framework (Legislation and AS/ISO Standards). Make sure you have read Topic 4
before attempting this part of the Assignment.
STEP3: Fill in the boxes on the assignment page as per the instructions. Make sure you cite all the
relevant clauses and each sub-clause applicable to your allocated Case Study.
Section 3 – Justifying a Decision and Recommending Appropriate Action
This section of the assignment focuses on what you think the answers are to the dilemma. It gives you a
chance to have your say on the issues involved. Remember to be brief but to the point here.
STEP 4: Make short text responses to the five (5) questions in the spaces provided. Each response
should be between 50 – 80 words (Total not to exceed 400 words).
