Unit 5 SWOT Analysis Worksheet
1. Watch this YouTube video for a 2-minute lesson in using SWOT analysis:
2. Based on your annotated bibliography and review of the literature, as well as on what you learned from the readings and discussion, list objectives you hope to achieve and interventions you would implement in proposing a solution for your health issue. Complete sentences not required; a bulleted list is sufficient Be specific and realistic.
Example: Your objective isn’t to cure world hunger, but it might be to develop a food insecurity screening and intervention program in public schools. This would be a realistic plan to present to lawmakers as a possible solution, thus encouraging them to enact policy to address the issue of hunger. This assignment will be the first step toward you developing a policy brief (Weeks 6 and 7) to theoretically present to stakeholders as a potential solution to your identified health issue.
| Objectives | My objective for dealing with COVID19 would be to have screenings and constant hand washing and temperature checks for schools and hospitals. My objective would be to make it mandatory to wear masks in public buildings and for all adults to have hand sanitizer on their person. I would also have a UBI universal basic income to those who lost their jobs and nonessential workers. |
| How would you meet these objectives? List your interventions briefly as bullet points | Donations Congress allocating money Mayors allocating money Civilian cooperation Volunteers And passing laws to nudge people in the right direction. Continue to educate the people Free treatments for positive COVID patients. |

a. Identify three strengths, three weaknesses, three opportunities, and three threats.
| Strengths Educating the people will reduce the chances of getting COVID19 and spreading it. Free treatments for positive COVID19 patients will encourage people to seek treatment and quarantine. A combined effort from congress down to the mayor and civilians will show unity and further strengthen the resolve of fighting the disease (motivation). | Weaknesses People not trusting the government due to past dealings. People afraid of hospitals due to past dealings and history. People not believing COVID19 is real and deadly. |
| Opportunities Increase in unemployment pay to help families. Free healthcare treatment UBI for people who are without jobs. | Threats People not doing social distancing People not washing hands or wearing a mask. High risk businesses opening up such as movie theaters and airlines. |
4. Explain how you might capitalize on the strengths and opportunities and minimize the weaknesses and threats in the implementation of your solution. Complete sentences not required, but a thorough and specific explanation is. Avoid general or sketchy statements.
| Strengths | Make it cool to wash hands and wear a stylish mask that works. Unity to fight a disease that threatens all Money to go to victims families and to treat patients |
