Patient Focus Group Summary:
Patients
expressed a desire to quickly and easily check their BGLs without the
necessity of navigating into an application. They also wanted an
instant indication of whether their BGLs were going up or down and
how quickly.
Patients
also wanted to be able to review their daily patterns and long term
BGL statistics expressed over weekly, fortnightly, and longer time
periods with particular interest in the percentage of time spent out
of range high or low, and time spent ‘in range’. They also wanted
to see BGL averages for these periods. Both graphical and numeric
type displays are desirable. Allowing timestamped annotations
regarding insulin taken or portions of carbohydrate consumed was a
popular suggestion. Patients wanted control over whether their
annotations were shared with health care providers.
