Problem 1. What is the minimum velocity of a projectile (not a rocket) ?red vertically from the Earth so that it escapes from the Earth’s gravitational pull? This is known as its escape velocity. You can neglect air-resistance.
Hint: If the velocity of the projectile falls to zero it will be pulled back to Earth.
Workshop 3: Switches
Problem 1. Switches don’t switch. They bounce on and o? 10 times in the ?rst 100ms before they settle on or o?. Design a simple circuit to damp out the voltage variations that works for a switch in series with a 9V battery.
Problem 2. Will your circuit work for a 60Hz 240VAC supply? If not, choose new component values of your design so that it does.
Problem 3. Are there component values that work for both power sources?
