1. Concern- INFECTION (because of exposure, indwelling catheter, internal fixation, IVT, sepsis)
Intervention- antibiotics, hand hygiene, wound assessment, access site, (monitor pt. – temperature, pain, swelling, redness).
2. Concern- COMPARTMENT SYNDROME—–ribs of broken bone—–swelling
Intervention- ELEVATION- helps to take swelling away.; neurovascular obs- sensation (assess the transition of skin), skin color, temperature (warm/ cold), capillary refill, pulse movement, pain.
3. Concern- PRESSURE INJURY- because of fractures, less blood flow
Intervention- reposition, air matress.
4. Concern-CONSTIPATION- no mobility, opioids gone through, food and fluid?
Intervention- ask him?
5. Concern- DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS
Intervention- anticoagulation (calaxene), encourage mobility, exercise.
6. Concern- PROPHALAXIS
Intervention- DEEP BREATHING/ SHALLOW BREATHING- sitting in bed leads to pneumonia (aspiration).——this will prevent pneumonia
