It just wastes a lot of time of every individual and is a time consuming process to keep a tab of battery on every gadget.

Opportunity – Develop a product that doesn’t need to be charged all the time. Or just charged one time and can last longer than usual.

Concept One –

Heading : Phone Battery that lasts for around a month long.

Insight :

Worrying about batteries being low all the time is very normal and common. Even very high end phones, expensive phones, don’t provide a battery that lasts for a longer duration. It is very difficult for people to find spots to charge their phones all the time. It is difficult for them to carry charging docks and cables for every gadget to charge their products.

The method of PIC has helped in realising the fact that many people do feel that they have the problem of initiating conversation and sometimes at the beginning of a meeting or a party, it is awkward to start a conversation or to start building relationships. The one main opportunity identified in the PIC is Ice breaking games can be a way to reduce the embarrassing atmosphere and to bring people into the same topic. Developing a snack box with small games inside can provide an opportunity of chatting and cooperation for the new groups who are embarrassed or who cannot initiate to talk. The three main concept ideas that address the same opportunity are as follows : The idea 1 is to make a snack box filled with the Tim Tams snack that will have a chit with a word to play game to erase the silence and make the whole break session interactive.

The idea 2 is to make a round table clock that has a question, which can be displayed when pressed the button or timer button to make the office meetings and universities presentation more interactive without having to think about the separate question each time. The idea 3 is making a sharing box with an inbuilt solar energy panel to heat the snack with games on the app that comes with the sharing box. All the three concept iudea require different technologies, different product types and are of different variety but addressing the single opportunity.

Phase 3 –

The three ideas were generated in the previous phase that is phase 2 – concept generation. The team selected the first two ideas for the concept evaluation phase. The third idea was removed because of the following reasons :

The third idea lacks the technological limitations as the fitting solar energy panel can still be done in a manner but dividing the part into 4 and developing that only one part in the box will heat at a time is not possible by technological aspects. This will also take a lot of time to produce such boxes as the solar energy panels will be required with this app and will also be needed to prepare accompanying the sharing box in accordance with the heating time. It’s a bit of a mixed process that will need a lot of time to produce such a product. Whereas, considering the other first two ideas it is better and easy to make with lesser use of complex technology with available resources, and resources that can be easily procured. The clock technology is already existing and just making the use of that with just adding screens with already filled questions on a timer basis is easy. In the first idea, creating the sharing box with a game is also easy for developing and will take less time in producing as compared to the idea 3. The third idea will also be very expensive for manufacturers to produce as procuring the technology of solar energy and the production of app, hiring the app designers and app technology will also be very expensive as compared to the other first two concepts. The first two concepts will be less expensive and easy to produce, easy in these aspects for the manufacturers.
