You need to: • Describe the standards of health (e.g. average life expectancy) and health care (e.g. access to medical practitioners), then evaluate how they compare with international standards/benchmarks (5 marks). • Use a holistic evaluation approach such as ‘The Three Es’ of efficiency, effectiveness and equity, to explain the main issues confronting the system (10 marks). This assessment should be presented in the format of a ‘policy brief’, like Assignment 1. Imagine you’re working for a Minister for Health who is visiting the country you’re describing and has asked you to provide him/her with a brief on the health system. Your brief will also be evaluated for presentation, writing style, line of argument and referencing (5 marks).
