Assessment Item 4: Presentation
Objective:
This group assessment task requires students to clearly and professionally communicate the scoping and planning of their research project to their peers and facilitators. Students will be required to demonstrate a thorough
understanding of the rational behind their project design. Effectively, the presentation should mimick the research proposal so that detailed feedback can be given which will ultimately improve the final submission.
A brief description of the task:
In this team task you and your team will prepare a professional visual aid such as PowerPoint or Prezi, and use
this to support an oral presentation of 10 minutes. Total time allocated for each presentation is 15 minutes
with 5 minutes for feedback (10 + 5 minutes).
Your presentation will be marked according to the marking rubric associated with this assessment. This part of
Assessment Item 4 is worth 10% of the total assessment for this unit, each member of the group will receive
the same mark.. It is important that each group member has an equal opportunity to present.
This is a group task. Your group will be required to submit the presentation slides via CloudDeakin on the
night of the presentation. There is no slide limit; however, you must strictly adhere to the time limit.
Assessment requirements:
• This assignment is to be undertaken as a group.
• Make sure that any analysis you present is your own work and not simply a summary of what is presented
in the source or reference materials.
• Be critical in your identification and analysis of information.
• Be consistent with fonts and font sizes.
– The presentation must look professional.
• Adhere to the time limit and be concise.
• All references must be relevant to the topic and be referenced appropriately.
• Your submission should be professional, with appropriate sections (these should roughly align to your
group report submission).
Submission deadline:
Presentations will occur during the seminar times in Week 10, a schedule will be made where you can nominate
your groups presentation time a couple of weeks before the presentations. You must be submit your slides via
CloudDeakin by 11:59 pm on the date of your presentation. It is a requirement that your slides are submitted
for your group to be given a mark. Hard copies will not be accepted.
