Assignment Two: Tourism/Hospitality Futures Scenario Video
Task Description
Video Presentation In this assignment, each student will create four to six minutes of YouTube video of futures scenario for Tourism/Hospitality in 2030 based on the trends identified and on your understanding of of Lectures, readings and tutorials from week-1 to 6. Students should also use research material from EBSCO Online Resources, Digital Magazines (Flipster), Gale (Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure).
Forum Discussion The student will develop a topic for online discussion based on the video presentation and post it to forum that generates opportunities for interaction. This will account to maximum of 10 marks. This allows you to exchange ideas with your peers and develop your argument for your assignment. Also student must participate to other students discussion forums to receive 2 mark for every response to maximum of 5. Your topic and response should be no longer than 100 words each.
Note – A response will only receive a point if it provides the opportunity for further discussion.

Please refer to the following information while creating the video:
· The student should review CSIRO Report as a part of Strategic Intelligence Scanning and need to analyse Tourism and Hospitality Industry “Near-Future Context”.
· Once you have analysed and Tourism and Hospitality Industry “Near-Future Context” you need to consider Trends, Issues, Themes, Deep” Drivers of Change (System Structure / Dynamics) to forecast future scenarios for Tourism/Hospitality Industry or Sub- Industries/Departments/Areas in 2030 based on the trends identified and on your understanding of Lectures, readings and tutorials from week-1 to 7.
· Based on forecasted future scenarios, you are required to develop a four to six minute YouTube video presentation. This presentation can include student talking to the camera, animations, PowerPoint, Keynote or Prezi content, pictures, narration, multimedia or a mix of all of these.
· The main objective is to communicate and present your chosen industry future scenarios in an engaging, persuasive and entertaining way.
· Your scenario must be supported by research and evidence but you are encouraged to make your scenario as creative as possible without compromising the accuracy of the content.
· The student can record your video using a range of technologies, including video cameras, smartphones, webcams, flip cams or screen capture software. There are a range of online tools and iPhone/Android apps for creating very interesting and professional presentations.

You are required to develop a four to six-minutes YouTube video presentation. • Canva (www.canva.com): Canva’s infographic maker includes hundreds of free design elements for creating beautiful infographics that can be included in your video.
• Piktochart (www.piktochart.com): Piktochart provides a tool for designing traditional infographics which can then be inserted into a video.
• YouTube (www.youtube.com): Lots of tips on creating video content, checkout the Creator’s Corner and the YouTube Video Editor (www.youtube.com/editor)
• Prezi (www.prezi.com): sign up for a student account to get more features, create your presentation then use a screen capture tool such as CamStudio to add narration and convert your prezi to video
• Software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Sway, Keynote, MovieMaker, iMovie, QuickTime Pro etc.
• If you are recording audio please make sure that you use a microphone, headset or webcam to ensure clarity. Your video should be no longer than six minutes. Longer videos will be penalised 5% per additional 30 seconds.
References & AcknowledgementsYour scenario must be supported by research and evidence. Remember that using other people’s work in your video requires you to document your sources. Music, film, images and text used in the video should be included in the ‘credits’ presented at the end of the video.
Criteria used to grade this task:
1. Analyse the global environment to predict alternative futures based on different combinations of assumptions, facts and trends
2. Appreciate and explain future opportunities afforded by advances in technology, particularly as they relate to global and continental transportation
3. Develop advanced persuasive arguments which stimulate group discussion on pressing issues
4. Conduct effective research to validate predicted directions of the tourism/hospitality industry

Submission Details
Your video should be submitted online by the due date and time. There are two steps for submitting your video:
1. YouTube Upload: Each student should create a YouTube account and the video should be uploaded to YouTube. Please note the following:
• Give your video a meaningful title and ensure your video is set to ‘public’ when uploaded.
• Please include the subject code, subject name, and the following copyright statement in the description: This video may include the reproduction or communication of copyrighted material for educational purposes. The video is not intended for promotional or commercial purposes.
• A copy video presentation file in mp4 format should be given to the Lecturer after the video presentation by Week-7.
LMS Submission: Video Presentation must uploaded in the word document with a cover page with student name, student’s ID and Youtube Video link with a short summary in LMS before 11: 55 PM Week-7 Sunday (31 May 2020).
Feedback and Return of Work
Feedback and marks will be provided via the LMS within two weeks of submission.
