Mission Command Paper Instructions In a 6-8 page Mission Command Paper, students will analyze a commanders performance in a pre-approved historical battle. This analysis will evaluate how effectively or ineffectively the commander executed four of six Mission Command Principles: build cohesive teams through mutual trust, create shared understanding, provide clear commanders intent, exercise disciplined initiative, use mission orders, and accept prudent risk. Students will also address how the commanders use of those principles affected the battles outcome. Summary of the battle should be very brief so as to privilege the doctrinal analysis over telling the story of the battle. Students must conduct thorough research to include a minimum of 4 scholarly sources (books or articles). Use of primary texts is highly encouraged. Cite all sources according to Chicago/Turabian style (endnotes and bibliography). The Battle I have to write about using the Chicago/Turabain style format is Little Big Horn, and the Commander is LTC Custer and how he used 4 of the six mission command principles
