When an organism’s cells does not have any oxygen it cannot undergo cellular respiration since the key part of that process is the electron transport chain which requires oxygen. So the glucose in your body can’t go to the Krebs Cycle after glycolysis it must undergo fermentation. Same as usual glucose enters glycolysis and is converted into pyruvate and NADH is oxidized to NAD+. This process converts each glycolysis into 2 ATP and 2 molecules of lactic acid.
