SPE 531: Graphing Assignment
Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to create a line graph to display data demonstrative of an AB single subject research design. Refer to Chapter 5 of the course text and textbook pages 131-134. You must graph the hypothetical data that has been provided to you by your instructor. This data can be located under the Major Assignments link. You will also write a brief summary of what the graph shows. In completing this assignment, you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of key concepts of visual inspection for an individual in need of behavior change.
Deliverable
Graphing and visual inspection of data are fundamental components of single-case research. You will use Microsoft Excel to create one graph within a single spreadsheet. The Excel graphs should meet the requirements outlined in the Grading Rubric below and formatted in accordance with guidelines outlined in your assigned readings (Alberto & Troutman, Chapters 4,5and 6). Your visual analysis should include:
· Completed graph copied and pasted in a word document
· Narrative summary of yoru visual inspection of the completed graph
Grading Procedures
A total of 20 points can be earned for this assignment. Points will be assigned for accuracy, correctly formatted, complete graph addressing each requirement outlined in the deliverable section (above) and summarized in the grading rubric (below).
Due Date
This assignment must be completed and submitted by 11:59 pm (Arizona Time) on the last day of the lesson in which the assignment is due. (See the course schedule for the specific date.)
