Extra Credit
If you would like to receive extra credit points, here are the instructions to receive ten (10) extra credit points toward your pool of points.
You will draft a two to three page (double-spaced) letter to a US Representative or Senator, Texas Congressperson, or other government official of your choice. Ā If you have questions as to whether a certain person will count, feel free to ask me in class or by email. Ā Your letter must contain at least one policy issue of your choice you want to ask your government official about. Ā Your question must be something more than asking their opinion about the issue but should ask what future steps must be taken to remedy the issue, if any. Ā Some policy issues include gender equality, police brutality, death penalty, workplace discrimination, war on drugs, affirmative action, immigration, etc. Ā You are not required to send this letter to your chosen government official, but I will award an additional five (5) extra credit points toward your pool of points if you send it and show me proof you sent it. Ā I highly recommend you have me review it if you would like to send it. Ā Submit it here by the due date listed under the Syllabus/Calendar tab.
