Guidelines to Follow: The Individual Assignment is a case analysis written in an essay format. This paper is worth 15% of your final grade. I am not too picky on the style the paper is created in, APA and MLA styles are acceptable. ( I PREFER APA)For information on APA, Purdue University has a nice tutorial at: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/** I have posted APA & MLA Sample formats in the Files Directory **I will be looking for the following criteria to be met: 1) That the paper does not exceed 5 double spaced pages and it is at least a minimum of 3 pages long, not counting cover or reference pages. Your essay should be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5″ x 11″) with 1″ margins on all sides. Both APA & MLA recommend using 12 pt. Times New Roman font. You will submit the paper in Sakai in an electronic format.2) It should have a cover page with a title, your name and course number on it. 3) An abstract is not required.4) A reference page is, and the proper use of references throughout the paper is also required. Please use our reading to support your perspective. If you wish to quote something directly from the reading, please use the simple format of putting the author’s last name, year and page number in parenthesis after the quotation and before the period: example – “Philosophy is wonderful” (Author, 2015, p1). Make sure that you also put the detailed reference in the Reference section.5) The three questions listed above must be addressed, but please do not just list question numbers and respond. You should build your responses to these questions in the body of your paper without rehashing the questions. In concise and complete sentences (using essay format), explain your ethical reasoning! To help you form your ethical conclusion, you MUST utilize the theory of ethical egoism. For example, you may say “I came to this conclusion by utilizing the theory of ethical egoism…” and explain (in detail) how that theory applies.Cite the source where the theory information came from. Write from the perspective that your reader has no idea what egoism is, so you will need to educate before you build your arguments for addressing the situations at hand.
